Lead futures rise on spot demand

Positive cues from global markets also influenced prices

Lead futures rose by 0.22% today to Rs 115.50 per kg on rising spot demand and positive cues from global markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in April traded higher by 25 paise, or 0.22%, at Rs 115.50 per kg, with a turnover of two lots.

The metal for delivery in the current month also rose by 20 paise, or 0.17%, to Rs 114.80 per kg in a turnover of 113 lots.

Besides rising demand from battery-makers, a firm trend at the London Metal Exchange (LME) influenced lead prices at futures trade, marketmen said.
