Lead rises by 0.7% on spot demand
Positive cues from the global market also helped prices
Press Trust of India New Delhi Taking positive cues from global market and pick up in domestic demand, lead prices were up by 0.73% to Rs 109.80 per kg in futures trade today.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery this month edged up by 80 paise, or 0.73% to Rs 109.80 per kg in a business turnover of 458 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in far-month February rose by 70 paise, or 0.64% to Rs 110.20 per kg in four lots.
According to market analysts, the rise in lead futures is due to pick up in demand from battery-makers in the spot market and a firm global trend.
