While the two stars were arch enemies in "Django", they will be playing partners in the Warner Bros movie.
The film is based on S Craig Zahler's forthcoming crime novel. Zahler will write the script. The project has no director, but the two actors are attached, the Hollywood Reporter said.
The story revolves around two detectives who team up to stop a series of attacks on a police department.
DiCaprio will produce the film with his Appian Way partner Jennifer Davisson Killoran.
DiCaprio's next film is "Wolf of Wall Street" where he teams up with master director Martin Scorsese for the fifth time. They earlier worked together on "Gangs of New York", "The Aviator", "The Departed" and "Shutter Island".
"Wolf of Wall Street" releases on November 15.
Jamie Foxx is currently in theatres with "White House Down".
