Leopard killed by locals after it injures 6 in UP village

A leopard was killed by locals of Raghuvadeeh village in Bansgaon area after it injured over six villagers, police said today.
The leopard entered the village yesterday and attacked three women besides others after which the villagers caught it, beat it with sticks and trapped the animal in a net, they said.
However, by the time it was handed over to the team of forest officials it was dead.
A forest official was also injured while trying to catch the leopard.
Police said that action would be taken against those who killed the leopard under the Wildlife Protection Act.
