The leopardess was captured at 11 AM from the godown of JCO mess of Army in the Cantonment area, where it was hiding since last morning, SSP D K Dubey said.
The feline, about 2-years-old, had injured six persons including a doctor when he tried to tranquilise it with a dart gun, forest official H K Awasthi said.
He said the wild cat will be released in the forests of Shivalik in Saharanpur district, after being treated.
The paw of the leopardess was injured by a sharp object while trying to jump over the wall of the Army hospital.
A team of experts from Kanpur zoo, Delhi's national park and other places had come here to capture it.
The locals here were in a state of panic. Schools and colleges were closed as a safety measure.
