"The state government has declassified some files, but these do not throw up anything new. In fact, some independent researches have more information than these," Left Front chairman Biman Bose claimed.
"The central government should declassify files related to Netaji so that the shroud over his disappearance gets cleared," Bose said.
"If needed, there can be a discussion in Parliament on the issue of declassification," he said.
Speaking to the media after a meeting of the Left Front, Bose said that 'Deshprem Divas' (Patriotism Day) would be celebrated on the occasion of Netaji's birthday on January 23.
A rally from Subodh Mallick Square in central Kolkata to Netaji's statue at Red Road would be organised to mark the occasion.
"The Left Front government had started celebrating Deshprem Divas in 2011, but the present Trinamool Congress government did not continue with it," he said.
