LF members to meet PM; demand Mamata be questioned on Saradha

Demanding that CBI interrogate West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the Saradha Chit Fund probe, the West Bengal Left Front has sought an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to apprise him of the situation and discuss possible alternatives to help the duped investors.
"Two MPs of Trinamool Congress have been arrested by CBI in the Saradha scam. Why is the CBI not interrogating the Chief Minister who is also TMC supremo. We demand that CBI should immediately interrogate and arrest Chief Minister," West Bengal Left Front Chairman Biman Bose said at a rally.
"The CBI and the central investigating agencies should find out who all have benefited from the Saradha Chit Fund scam," Bose said.

Meanwhile CPI(M) Politburo member and state opposition leader Surya Kanta Mishra has written a letter to Modi seeking an appointment for a Left Front delegation regarding the probe of the multi-crore Saradha chit-fund scam.
"I want to remind him that before the elections, the PM had said he would take action against all those involved but I am now sad to say that six months have passed since the government came into power but the main culprits are yet to be arrested," he told reporters.
Stating that the entire investigation is being done by central government agencies like the CBI, SFIO and Enforcement Directorate, he said the onus is on the Centre to arrest all culprits and bring back money to duped investors.

"Why are they not arresting the culprits and unearthing the looted money of the common people. We have sought an appointment with Narendra Modi to discuss the possible alternatives and modalities to resolve the problem," Mishra said.

Mishra in the letter to Modi has sought an appointment between December 21-23.
The CPI(M) leader also said the investigating agencies must also trace how money from the chit-fund scam went to those involved in the Burdwan blast.
The West Bengal Left Front today organised a rally from Esplanade area to College Street area of Kolkata in protest against the Saradha Chit Fund scam.
