He captioned the shot, in which he is pictured gazing into Miss Piggy's big eyes, "Spent Friday with the most beautiful girl in the world."
"Kermit, #SorryNotSorry", referencing Miss Piggy's longtime puppet boyfriend, who she split from in early August (15) after dating on-and-off for decades.
Hemsworth, 25, will play himself in the new show.
The Australian actor won't be the only star to feature alongside The Muppets when the variety series returns to TV on September 22.
