Nahan and Jubbal received 10mm rains, followed by Dharamsala and Bhuntar receiving 8 mm, Kasauli 7 mm, Jubbarhatti 5 mm and Paonta Sahib 4 mm while the weather remained dry in other parts of the state despite an overcast sky.
The region received an average rainfall of 621.6 mm between June 1 to Septemeber 25 against normal rainfall of 828.6 mm during the current monsoon season, increasing the rain deficit by 25 per cent.
The rain deficit was 77 per cent in Lahaul and Spiti, 57 per cent in Chamba, 55 per cent in Kinnaur, 34 per cent in Sirmaur and 14 per cent in Kangra while the rain deficit was marginal in five other districts of Una, Hamirpur, Solan, Bilaspur and Mandi.
Kalpa was coldest in the region with minimum temperature at 7.0 degrees whileManali, Keylong and Shimla recorded a low of 11.2 degrees, 13.5 degrees and 13.7 degrees respectively.
Bhuntar recorded a low of 14.4 degrees, Solan 14.6 degrees, Dharamsala 15.6 degrees, Sundernagar 16.6 degrees and Una 22.0 degrees.
Local MeT office has predicted rains or thundershowers at few places in mid hills over next two days and dry weather in lower and higher hills for six days from tomorrow onwards.
