The India Meteorological Department on Saturday predicted light to moderate rainfall in Goa in the next few days, and warned fishermen to stay away from the sea.
Goa witnessed heavy rains in the last two weeks. The floods in low-lying areas have now abated.
"Light to moderate rainfall is very likely to occur at most places over north and south Goa for five days starting from August 17," an IMD bulletin said.
The fishermen should not venture into the sea as "rough to very rough sea conditions with wind speed reaching 45-55 kmph and gusting to 64 kmph" is likely during this period, it added.
