Local court grants bail to senior Congress leaders

Senior Congress leaders and former Union Ministers, Mukul Wasnik and Ajay Maken, were granted bail by a local court here today in Dharampuri town in connection with a ten-year-old case related to staging of a farmers' agitation.
Civil Judge Class II Suryakant Tripathi granted bail to the Congress leaders after they furnished Rs 15,000 bond.
They had staged a road blockade over an issue concerning farmers issue in 2005.
A case was registered against 10 Congress leaders including Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh, former Deputy Chief Ministers, Jamuna Devi and Subhash Yadav, at a local police station, based on a local BJP leader's complaint.
