Acting on a tip-off, the police raided Tribal Welfare Department Divisional Co-coordinator Manohar Singh Chouhan's residence and two hostels simultaneously, Lokayukta Superintendent of Police Virendra Singh told reporters today.
Initial raids revealed that he owned properties worth Rs 2.10 crore, which is highly disproportionate to his known sources of income.
He had joined government service in 1995 as a Class 3 employee.
So far, the Lokayukta has unearthed a house, two plots, a farm, two hostels, a luxury car and a couple of two wheelers, the SP said.
A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against him and further investigations are on, the SP said.
