The government should give Rs 6,000 to cotton, Rs 2,500 to paddy and Rs 4,000 to soya growers against the MSP already announced, which was quite low since other states are also providing financial support to the farmers, state BJP unit president Sudhir Mungantiwar told reporters here today.
Listing demands of the state BJP, Mungantiwar said if the state government fails to bring out a white paper on status of irrigation projects, the party will come out with a black paper to reveal the misdeeds in irrigation department and demanded setting up of a SIT to probe.
He demanded that the government should provide 12 subsidised LPG cylinders per year and also convene an all-party meeting to discuss the drought-like situation prevailing in some parts of state, reeling under acute power shortage.
