Maharashtra government will create a "e-platform" to monitor the movement of files related to setting up of new industries and investment in the state, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced here today.
Addressing a delegation of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) that met him to convey the expectations of the trade and industry from the new government, Fadnavis said the proposed interface will facilitate quick approval of applications for setting up industries in an effective and transparent manner.
"Movement of files could be tracked to ensure that the clearances are in a time-bound manner. At present, 76 licenses and approvals are required to set up an industry in the state," the chief minister said, adding that efforts would be taken to bring down this number of permissions to at least 25.
Fadnavis assured that he would meet trade and industry organisations every month to sort out difficulties faced by the industrial sector and asked the CII to take the initiative.
Explaining the 'Make in Maharashtra' concept, Fadnavis said a committee of senior bureaucrats will be formed to provide all permissions and clearances within 30 days. "Those investing more than Rs 100 crore will have the facility of one window clearance under the 'Maitri' scheme," he added.
The CII delegation was led by Adi Godrej, ex-president, CII and current chairman, Godrej Group.
The members deliberated on how the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Make in India' campaign can be promoted in Maharashtra and also suggested ways to attract investments to the state.
