The Punjab team started on an attacking note moving the ball with quick, short passes. The players made a series of moves from the right flank, but could not penetrate the rival defence.
As the first half progressed, both teams failed to live up to the expectations of the crowd that had gathered to watch the match. They stuck to safe gameplans and concentrated in the midfield due to the blazing sun.
In the 80th minute of the game, Nagpur FC player David Etim was shown the red card by referee Sushant Bhiwgade for misbehaving with opponent players and referee.
Mahilpur FC will now meet Army XI, Kolkata in the final tomorrow.
