The main accused in the alleged rape and cheating of a Thai woman will soon be subject to a DNA test, police said today.
Manoj Jain will soon be summoned by a court for this purpose, even as blood samples of the woman and daughter have been taken, they said.
The case refers to the 42-year-old Jain allegedly cheating the Thai woman, who had complained that he had fathered two children with her after promising to marry her.
According to a complaint by the woman sent to the City Police Commissionerate through a consular communication, Jain had raped her after spiking her cold drink, a city police release said.
However, he later promised to marry her and fathered two children with her, it said, quoting the complaint.
He was reportedly living with her in Bangkok, Thailand, for the last six years.
However, he returned to India.
Jain's friend Vikas Kothari, during a visit to Bangkok, had allegedly tried to rape her, the release said.
Acting on her complaint, the police had arrested Jain and Kothari in May and they were remanded to custody.
A case was filed against them under various sections of the IPC including rape, cheating and criminal intimidation, police said.
Police said blood samples of the complainant and her daughter had been taken on July 11 at a government hospital here for DNA test.
Jain has been granted bail by a local court but he will soon be summoned to undergo the DNA test, the release said.
