Mamata has right to oppose FDI: Selja

"You may not like to introduce it (FDI in retail) in your state and you have the right. This is part of our federal system," Selja said on the sidelines of a programme here.

Stating that the Congress is a large party which fought for national freedom and it was more concerned about country's economic development, she said, FDI entry in multi-brand retail was allowed after serious consideration.

Selja, however, praised Mamata Banerjee as a "fighter" though she had left the Congress family.
