Man arrested for molesting minor girl

The police have arrested a man for allegedly molesting a minor girl on a road here, a police officer said on Saturday.

The girl, a student of class 9 was on her way to attend a private tuition on August 21 when a man in a scooter molested her on the road in Laxmisagar area of the city.

The man fled after the girl raised an alarm. The girl's family had lodged a written complaint at Laxmisagar police station on the same day.

The officer said the police arrested the man with the help of the CCTV footage of the incident.

The Bhubanewswar-Cuttack Commissionerate of Police in its official twitter handle on Friday night said: "Suspect in the Laxmisagar molestation Case has been arrested. His details cannot be disclosed at this stage as it will hamper the investigation of the case. Information will be provided in due course. @odisha_police @dcpbbsr."
Meanwhile, a senior police officer said that the identity of the accused is not made public as it has been planned to conduct a TI (test identification) parade where the victim will confirm whether the man was the actual person who molested
