PI ND Salkhe of Sahapur police station told PTI today that accused Anand P Rathod was held last evening for murdering his 24-year-old friend Mangesh N Dongre, after a quarrel during a party to ring in the New Year at joint in Valshej village.
Rathod, allegedly attacked Dongre with a knife in an inebriated state inflicting multiple wounds resulting in his death on the spot while another friend Ubal B Rathod, was badly injured in the squabble, police said.
Police has charged the accused under section 302 and 307 of the IPC.
