A man was booked for allegedly harassing his wife for dowry, police said today.
Amit Saini of Bhaura village was booked under Sections 498-A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) and 406 (criminal breach of trust) of the IPC.
The case was registered against Saini on a complaint by his wife Nancy Saini, a resident of Pritam Nagar.
She told police that she got married to Amit in November, 2015.
Her parents had paid dowry at the time of marriage but her husband allegedly used to harass her asking for more, including a car, she claimed in her complaint.
