A 28-year old man fell from his motorcycle after ramming into a barricade, killing him on the spot here early today, police said.
The temporary barricade was erected as part of the centenary celebrations of ruling AIADMK founder and late chief minister M G Ramachandran, they said.
The man Raghu, who was not wearing a helmet, failed to notice the barricade due to poor lighting on the stretch, resulting in the mishap, police said.
Following protests by the locals after the incident, some barricades were removed, considering the safety of the public, they said.
