Haryana-resident Devinder Chouhan had complained that he and his colleague had reached the cave shrine when a man claiming to be a police personnel approached them and asked for Rs 400 per person for speedy 'darshan', a police officer said.
They paid the amount to him and the accused facilitated their entry via gate number 5 and the duo also kept three mobile phones, jackets and other items with him as per his advise in view of the shortage of space in locker room at the Bhawan, the officer said.
Police launched a manhunt and arrested the accused, who happens to be a daily wager with Public Health Engineering (PHE) department of J&K government, and recovered all the items from him, the officer said.
