Man held for molesting minor daughter

A middle-aged man was today arrested in Girgaum here for allegedly sexually harassing his 17-year-old daughter for over a year, police said today.
The complaint was registered yesterday and the 50-year-old man was immediately arrested, they said.
"The victim and her family used to stay in a small house. The father used to touch the victim inappropriately while sleeping," an official from VP Road police station said.
"The accused had been sexually harassing the victim since April 2013. When the victim complained to her mother, she just asked the accused to stop it instead of taking any strict action," he said.

Angry with the victim for complaining to her mother, the accused then started assaulting her.
Later, when the victim shared her ordeal with her friend, the latter took her to the police station.
The police arrested the accused after booking him for molestation under the IPC and sections of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
