A 19-year-old man was today held on a Delhi Metro station for allegedly carrying three live bullet rounds in his bag.
Officials said the incident was reported from Shahdara station on the Red Line of the Delhi Metro around 3:00 PM when a CISF personnel detected the live ammunition, of .315 bore calibre in a traveller's bag.
The commuter has been identified as Shafahed, a resident of Meerut in Uttar Pradesh.
They said the bullets were detected during the X-ray scanning of the bag and the man was not allowed to go inside the station premises.
"He could not produce any documents for carrying the rounds and hence he was handed over to police by the CISF," they said.
Carrying arms and ammunition in the Delhi Metro network is banned under law.
