Man killed after being run over by police jeep

A 50-year-old man was mowed down by a police jeep in Chilma Bazar, triggering protests from locals who staged a roadblock demanding arrest of the policemen involved in the incident.
The victim, Swaleen was run over by the jeep of Dubaulia station officer last evening when he had gone to the market, police said today.
The jeep driver and the SO fled from the spot after which the agitating locals blocked the road demanding their arrest.
The blockade was lifted after the circle officer assured the protesters that an FIR will be lodged against the SO.
