Man, mother get 10 years jail in dowry death case

A local court has sentenced a man and his mother to 10 years imprisonment in a dowry death case.
According to the prosecution, Farmana was burnt to death by her husband Wajid Ali and mother-in-law Saira Bano over dowry at Tandhera village in the district on September 30, 2011.
Additional District Sessions Judge Harish Tirpathi found the accused guilty under Section 304 (B) of the IPC on the basis of the victim's dying declaration after all eye witnesses turned hostile.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 each on the convicts.
