The incident occurred when Rakesh Agarwal, commission agent of the New Grain Market, was returning to his shop after withdrawing Rs six lakh from a private brank at Bawal Chowk here, police said.
The bike-borne accused knocked down his scooter near Gate No-1 of the market, took away the bag and escaped with the booty, they said.
The Model Town police here have registered a case of robbery against unidentified persons in this regard.
Meanwhile, SP Manbir Singh visited the crime scene and assured irate traders that a police PCR would be deployed everyday from 10am to 10pm for their security.
