A man, in his 20s, allegedly attempted to commit suicide in Maurya Enclave police station in northwest Delhi.
The incident took place on Friday when two men were brought to the police station after their movements were found to be suspicious, the police said.
The two men identified themselves as Vikas and Rahul. After some time, Vikas claimed that his name is Aakash.
A woman sub-inspector, who arrived at the police station, said that Vikas alias Aakash was wanted in a case of molestation. While the other man was let off, Vikas alias Akash was detained.
Aakash then requested the police personnel to let him use the washroom. He was accompanied by a constable to the washroom where Aakash allegedly consumed camphor tablets kept inside.
However, the constable saved him in the nick of time and made him spit out the tablets. Aakash was taken to the hospital where his condition is stable, the police said.
