Manipal Health Enterprises (MHE) has appointed ex-Max Healthcare head Ajay Bakshi as its Managing Director & CEO.
Bakshi, who was the Managing Director & CEO of Max Healthcare, takes over from Rajen Padukone who has been appointed Group President in the Manipal Group.
In his new role, Bakshi will be responsible to drive growth and operations of the company's business, Manipal Health Enterprises said in a statement.
Commenting on the development, Bakshi told PTI: "I have joined Manipal Health Enterprises at a time when it is looking for aggressive growth. We are dominant in South India and are looking to expand in North India and also in South Asia, Middle East and Africa."
MHE will shortly be present in Kuala Lumpur in four to five months time, he added.
"In the past year, the company has expanded its footprint by entering the North India market through Jaipur and in Africa and Malaysia outside of India. MHE is now pursuing growth both in its existing and new locations in India as well as in Africa, ASEAN and Middle East markets," MHE Executive Chairman Swami Swaminathan said.
MHE currently manages an aggregate of 5,200 plus beds among 16 hospitals, over 13 locations across 6 states in India and one hospital in Klang, Malaysia.
Manipal Hospitals is part of the Manipal Education and Medical Group (MEMG), which pioneers in the field of education and healthcare delivery.
