Mark Schultz sorry for 'Foxcatcher' criticism

Wrestler Mark Schultz, whose life story was dramatised in 'Foxcatcher', has apologised for criticising the film and its director, saying that he was "temporarily insane".
Director Bennett Miller's movie dramatises the murder of Olympic wrestler Schultz's (Channing Tatum) brother Dave Schultz (Mark Ruffalo) at the hands of philanthropist John Eleuthere du Pont (Steve Carell), according to Hollywood Reporter.
Having hit out at director Miller over alleged historical inaccuracies earlier this year, Schultz took to Twitter to apologise for his criticisms.
"I was temporarily insane. I apologise to you before the world Bennett. I'm sorry... I was temporarily insane," the wrestler wrote.

"'Foxcatcher' is a miracle. I'm sorry I said I hated it. I love it. I love my interpretation and will ignore the haters. I'm never getting mad," he added.
Schultz was previously highly critical of the film and labelled Miller a "punk," "pussy" and "liar" and threatened to end his career.

Schultz appeared to go on to further condemn Miller on a Twitter account credited to him, writing: "Everything I've ever said positive about the movie I take back. I hate it. I hate Bennett Miller. I hate everything that scum touches. everything!"
Schultz's criticism just ahead of the Oscar nominations seems to have had an impact as the film did not get a best picture nod. The film has bagged five nominations including best director for Miller, best actor for Steve Carell, best supporting actor for Mark Ruffalo, best make-up and hairstyling and best original screenplay.

Schultz also praised Tatum's performance and lamented that he wasn't Oscar-nominated for the role.
