Several high reaches of Himachal Pradesh received fresh snowfall whereas many areas in the middle and lower hills experienced rain and hailstorm on Saturday that brought down the maximum temperatures in the state, the meteorological department said.
Meanwhile, the Shimla Meteorological Centre predicted rain and snowfall in some areas of the state on March 1 (Sunday) and from March 4 to 6.
Keylong received 3 cm snowfall and also recorded the lowest temperature in the state at minus 2.8 degress Celsius, Shimla Meteorological Centre Director Manmohan Singh said.
Dharamshala witnessed 17 mm rain, followed by Shimla and Kangra with 13 mm each, Solan got 6 mm, Manali received 5 mm and Una registered 4 mm rain on Saturday, he added.
The minimum temperatures were 3 to 4 degrees Celsius above normal.
The minimum in Kalpa was 1.2 degrees Celsius, followed by Kufri at 2.1, Dalhousie at 3.1, Manali at 3.6 and Shimla at 6 degrees Celsius, respectively, Singh added.
However, the maximum temperatures came down by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius, he said, adding that the highest temperature in the state was recorded in Nahan as it registered 21.9 degrees Celsius.
