Attacking the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government in Madhya Pradesh, BSP chief Mayawati today claimed that the law and order situation in the state was very poor while rampant corruption prevailed.
She also claimed that the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh had adopted an aggressive attitude towards weaker sections and Muslims.
The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister held a meeting with her party leaders from Madhya Pradesh and directed them to strengthen the party's base among the masses for the upcoming assembly elections in the state.
The law and order situation in Madhya Pradesh is very bad, and there is rampant corruption while criminal elements are attacking government officials, which proves that a jungle raj is prevailing in the state, Mayawati said in a statement released here.
"In Madhya Pradesh, the state government has adopted an aggressive behaviour towards Dalits, backward classes, Muslims, other religious minorities and farmers," she alleged.
The BSP chief claimed that like Rajasthan, the "anti- people BJP" government in another neighbouring state (of Madhya Pradesh) would go out of power.
"In this pleasant transformation, the BSP has to play its important role. The BSP's position in these states has been strong enough that it can affect the 'balance of power'. Some momentum has to be added to it and ground work needs to be done," Mayawati said.
She added that her party needed to promote people who possess a "missionary zeal" ahead of the upcoming elections so that after winning they donot fall prey to selfish interests.
