A man wanted in two cases under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) was arrested by Thane police on July 26, a senior official said.
Thane Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Deepak Deoraj said Abbas Amjad Irani alias Sayyed (21) had several cases of chain-snatching and theft against his name and was on the run since 2016.
"Two cases were registered against him under MCOCA in Kolsewadi police station in Kalyan. He had sneaked into Thane and had got married here last year. We arrested him on July 26," Deoraj said.
