MDPC to be set up in Andhra Pradesh soon: Naidu

The Medical Device Promotion Council (MDPC), aimed at promoting medical devices industry, will be soon set up in Andhra Pradesh, Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu said today.
In a meeting with Minister for Chemical and Fertilizers Ananth Kumar, Naidu discussed the matter and asked him to speed up the matter, a release said.
The MDPC will be set up in the premises of Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) and the foundation stone is expected to be laid in the last week of December, it added.
It has also been decided to open 100 "Jan Aushadi" stores across Andhra Pradesh this December, the release said.
Naidu said that Jan Aushadhi is a Central Government initiative aimed at providing quality medicines at affordable prices to the masses.
