The demonstration saw participation of NUJI representatives from across the country and Confederation of Newspaper and News Agency Employees' Organisations General Secretary M S Yadav.
Led by NUJI President Ras Vihari and General Secretary Ratan Dikshit, the protesters marched towards Parliament where they were stopped by police. Later, a five-member delegation submitted the memorandum to the Prime Minister's Office.
Yadav demanded that the Centre and the state governments take steps to ensure implementation of the recommendations of the Majithia Wage Board.
Dikshit said, "The only objective is that governments in the states and the Centre understand the issues regarding security, safety and the violation of our rights and take appropriate corrective action.
