Sudha Neekhra's sari caught fire yesterday while she set fire to an effigy of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivran Sing Chouhan in Dabra town near Gwalior in protest against the alleged ill-treatment meted out to Congress MLA Imarti Devi during a recent 'Atal Jyoti' campaign.
When the MP chief minister learnt about the incident today morning, he immediately directed Gwalior district authorities to take care of her medical needs, sources said.
Gwalior Collector P Narhari has sanctioned Rs 50,000 as medical assistance to the female Congress leader, through the District Red Cross.
