Members of the Balbharti-appointed committee which put together the textbook will look into these mistakes, it said.
Vidyadhar Amrite, a retired professor who is also a member of Mumbai Geography Teachers Association, has pointed out that the Mediterranean Sea has been shown as a landmass in the textbook.
He also pointed out Delhi has been shown on the eastern bank of Yamuna river in one of the maps, whereas most of the national capital is on the western bank of the river.
"We have taken cognisance of the mistakes and I have summoned a meeting of members who were involved in preparing the textbook. Depending on their feedback, next decision will be taken and if necessary the mistakes will be rectified," said Sunil Magar, Director of Balbharti.
