"The Cabinet has approved the ex-post facto for the dissolution of the CMJ University after the Supreme Court had directed the state government to take appropriate action under Section 48 of the CMJ University Act, 2009," Education Minister R C Laloo told PTI.
The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting held yesterday evening here, he added.
The education department had proposed the dissolution of the first self-financed University (founded in 2009) in the state last year based on the recommendation of the then Governor R S Mooshahary.
Jha was arrested on April 22 from Bihar but was granted bail by Meghalaya High Court on June 4 after police failed to file an appeal against his bail application.
