Mentha oil futures up 0.24% on rise in demand

Mentha oil prices rose 0.24 per cent to Rs 1,002.40 per kg in futures market today on rise in demand from consuming industries at the spot market against restricted arrivals from producing belts.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery this month rose Rs 2.40, or 0.24 per cent, to Rs 1,002.40 per kg, clocking a business volume of 34 lots.
The oil for May month delivery traded higher by Rs 1.40, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 1,006 per kg with a trading volume of 5 lots.
Marketmen said raising of bets by speculators, driven by rising demand from consuming industries in the spot markets against restricted supplies from Chandausi, led to the rise in mentha oil prices in futures trade.
