Mentha oil prices rose 1.19% to Rs 899.80 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions amid a firm trend at spot market on rising demand.

Besides, restricted arrivals from the major producing belts of Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, supported the upside.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in May moved up by Rs 10.60, or 1.19%, to Rs 899.80 per kg in a business turnover of 140 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in April traded higher by Rs 8.60, or 0.98%, to Rs 888 per kg in 700 lots.

Analysts said besides rising demand from consuming industries in the physical markets, restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly kept mentha oil prices higher at futures trade.
