Mercury rising in Delhi

Mercury today inched closer to the 40 degrees Celsius-mark in Delhi, while high humid conditions persisted making life difficult for people in the city.
The maximum temperature settled a notch below season's average at 39.2 degrees Celsius while the minimum was recorded two notches below normal at 25.8 degrees Celsius, a MeT department official said.
The maximum and minimum were recorded at 38.8 and 26 degrees Celsius yesterday.
The humidity in the air hovered at 27 per cent on the lower side and 75 per cent on the higher side.
The MeT department has predicted clear sky along with the possibility of dust storm in some parts of the city.
"The sky will be mainly clear. Dust storm could occur in some parts of the city. There is no rain expected in next one or two days. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover at 40 and 26 degrees respectively," the MeT forecast said.
