MHA examining NIA move to register case against ISIS

The Home Ministry is examining the National Investigation Agency's proposal to register a case against the ISIS to check its possible expansion in India as four Mumbai youth have joined the terrorist organisation.
The Home Ministry, however, will not allow the NIA to name ISIS chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in the "open case" since this would be nothing but sensationalisation of the issue as the probe agency is not in a position to arrest the terror group leader, ministry sources said.
If allowed, the case will be filed under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and the United Nations Convention on terrorism against ISIS for brainwashing the youth for terror activities.

However, a final decision will be taken at the highest level of the government considering the fact that 39 Indians, who were working in Iraq, are still in the custody of ISIS.
In addition, around seven million Indians work in Gulf countries.
According to reports, as many as four Indians from Mumbai had joined ISIS. However, one of them has reportedly been killed.
