Mihika, Bajwa clinch under-16 crowns with easy wins

Third seed Mihika Yadav of Maharashtra overcame top seed Abinika R of Tamil Nadu to claim the girls' under-16 singles title in the Babolat 8th Ramesh Desai National tennis championship for under-16 and under-12 here today.
Mihika was on song and outclassed her Tamil Nadu rival to come out with a convincing 6-2 6-4 win in the final played at the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association's courts.
The corresponding boys' crown was clinched by second seed Paramveer Bajwa of Punjab who subdued Maharashtra's unseeded Rian Pandole 6-3 6-1.
The boys' U-12 final was a long drawn affair with seventh seed Terrence Das of Tamil Nadu fighting back from the loss of the first set to overcome Adarsh Naga Tippabhatla of Andhra Pradesh by posting a 6-7(2) 6-4 6-1 victory.
Punjab's Sarah Dev, the top seed, grabbed the girls under-12 singles crown by easily defeating Bhakti Parwani of Gujarat 6-0 6-1 in the final.
