Min temp below normal in several parts of Rajasthan

The minimum temperature was below normal at most places in Rajasthan on Friday, the Meteorological department said.

Cold wave conditions prevailed in Sikar, Jhunjhunu and Alwar district, it said.

Sikar was the coldest place in the state at 2.5 degrees Celsius, nearly 4 notches below normal, the Met department said.

The night temperature in Sri Ganganagar was 5 degrees Celsius followed by Churu (5.2) and Pilani (5.9), it said.

In Dabok and Eranpura Road the minimum temperature was 6.2 and 6.6 degrees Celsius respectively, while Bikaner and Kota each recorded a minimum of 7.8 degrees Celsius, the Met department said.

Jaipur, Ajmer and Jaisalmer recorded their respective lows at 8.1, 8.2 and 8.9 degrees Celsius, it said.

The night temperature in Sawai Madhopur and Jodhpur was 9.2 degrees Celsius each. Barmer and Phalodi recorded a low of 9.5 and 11.2 degrees Celsius respectively, the Met department said.

The Maximum temperature at most places in the state was recorded between 19 and 25.4 degrees Celsius, it said.

The Met department has forecast cold wave conditions to prevail at isolated places in the state till Sunday and their minimum temperature to remain two to three degrees below normal.
