Minimum temperatures drop in Punjab, Haryana

Minimum temperatures, which hovered around normal in the past few days, today dropped by upto four degrees in some parts of Punjab and Haryana even as sunny weather greeted the people in the region.
The minimum temperatures hovered between one degree Celsius above normal to four notches below normal in most parts of Punjab and Haryana, the MeT office said here.
Amritsar was coldest in the plains of Punjab and Haryana recording a minimum temperature of 4.2 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal.
Karnal in Haryana settled at a low of five degrees Celsius, four notches below normal while Narnaul had a low of seven degrees Celsius.
Among other places, Hisar had a low of seven degrees Celsius, two notches below normal followed by 7.7 degrees Celsius in Ludhiana, one notch below normal, 8.5 degrees Celsius in Patiala, 8.6 degrees Celsius in Chandigarh, one notch above normal and 9.9 degrees Celsius in Ambala, one notch above normal.
The MeT department predicted sunny days ahead in the region with rise in minimum temperatures.
