Union Minister for Communications Manoj Sinha on Monday named a pre-Independence period cultural centre of the Postal department in the heart of the capital city after freedom fighter Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya.

He also unveiled Malviya's statue in its premises.

Addressing a function on the occasion, Sinha said it was part of an effort to give appropriate place to such personalities in the history.

Built in 1930, the centre has been now named as "Madan Mohan Malviya Dak Sankritik Kendra".

In his adddress, Sinha, minister of state for Communications (Independent charge), said that "it is my privilege that we are paying tribute to a great personality by naming a building after him."
Directing the postal officials to pay special attention to the Kendra as it has been named after Malaviya, Sinha said that "we want to make it one of the best centres of Patna and funds will not be any problem in developing the centre as the centre would give the money it required."
