Negi, who reviewed preparations for the yatra scheduled to begin on May 13, said apart from adequate supply of medicines, doctors and para-medics be deployed, especially on pedestrian routes, for devotees visiting the famous Himalayan shrines of Uttarakhand.
Haridwar-based Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya is deploying 16 of its ayurvedic doctors on pedestrian routes leading to Kedarnath Dham and Yamunotri Dham.
These specialist doctors will advise devotees on what to eat and what not to eat in view of the quick climatic variations in high altitudes, Negi said.
The sacred portals of Gangotri and Yamunotri shrines will be reopened on May 13 to mark the beginning of the Char Dham yatra.
