Ministers informed about swine flu situation in Thane district

Maharashtra Health Minister Deepak Sawant and Thane Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde were informed here today that of the total 42 deaths in Thane, Raigad and Palghar districts since January 2015, the maximum of 12 deaths were reported from within Thane city limits.
At the meeting to review the swine flu situation, senior health department officials were informed that there were six deaths each within Navi Mumbai Corporation limits and Raigad.
The minister directed health department officials to co-ordinate with private practioners and alert citizens to check the spread of the disease.
