The body of the minor girl was recovered yesterday from a secluded place near Abdullah Shah Ghazi Goth on the outskirts of Karachi after she had gone missing from Sachal Goth area, police said.
The victim was sexually assaulted, sodomised and then strangulated, additional police surgeon at the Abbassi Shaheed hospital Dr Rohina Hasan said.
The body bore marks of torture, her father said, adding that the crime had taken place 10 to 12 hours before her body was brought to the hospital around noon yesterday.
"We are conducting raids and we will catch the culprit(s) soon," he said.
Earlier in February, a one-and-a-half-year-old girl was raped before being strangled in Karachi. In November last year, a similar incident had reported from Quetta where a six- year-old girl was strangled and dumped near a garbage heap after being subjected to rape attempts.
