In a written reply to a query from Lalruatkima of the Mizo National Front (MNF), Lalsawta said different department's under the state government were compelled to deposit certain amount of money in civil deposit to avoid fund lapse and overdraft with the Reserve Bank of India.
He said that the state government had civil deposit amounting to Rs 1,168.84 crore during previous fiscal of 2013-14.
